What does a successful Mainframe Application Developer do at Fiserv?

You will help drive the technical roadmap, architecture, design, and solution architecture for Optis, our large-scale Issuer Solutions processing environment. You'll lead the assessment, gap analysis, process improvement, and design of the end-state operating model for the platform. By designing and maintaining reliable platforms, you'll help support mainframe infrastructure, data pipelines, and tools for impactful enterprise applications.


What you will do:

  • Drive the delivery of complex solutions encompassing multiple products and services by contributing a clear strategy for product integration
  • Influence senior management of product development on enterprise-level innovation roadmap strategies
  • Assist product leaders with business guidance, consultative direction, and knowledge development
  • Develop design specifications, infrastructure diagrams, and other system-related information
  • Build a detailed level of knowledge on company solutions, products, and services
  • Develop strong partnerships with development teams, related enterprise and software architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders
  • Apply analytical skills to address the needs of corporate strategy, understand technology specifics, and understand how different parts of the business operation are connected


What you will need to have:

  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale IT system development, including hands-on experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing code
  • 10+ years of experience in MVS, CICS, COBOL, JCL, and MQ
  • Experience in a financial services or payments processing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
