Job Details
  • Install equipment and accessories, such as stereos, navigation, communication, and power management systems, within the boat construction environment.
  • Ensure appropriate connections from power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, lighting, and other electronic equipment.
  • Inspect and test electrical or electronic systems to locate and diagnose malfunctions using visual inspections and testing instruments.
  • Test electrical characteristics such as voltage, resistance, and other circuit metrics using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other test equipment.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures and equipment using electric drills and routers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with electronic equipment, such as sound, navigation, communication, and security equipment.
  • Collaborate with leadership and engineering to improve product design and performance, ensuring all electrical installations meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to understand the layout of electrical systems within the boats.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be able to install heavy electrical harnesses (experience in shipbuilding/similar industry is preferred)
  • Must have at least two years of experience in electrical work (including tools of the trade), specifically in the marine, RV, or similar industry.
  • Must have a working knowledge of 12v systems.
  • Experience working with 120v and 240v systems.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing schedules.
