Benefits Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Benefits Manager to join our client's team in South Houston. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, managing, and administering comprehensive benefits programs. This role requires a strategic thinker who can ensure compliance, oversee vendor relationships, and lead a dedicated benefits team. Responsibilities:
- Design benefits programs for U.S. employees, including health, welfare, and retirement plans.
- Manage all aspects of benefits programs such as open enrollment, relocation, commuter benefits, and more.
- Administer benefits programs, handling processes, billing, deductions, and leave management.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, including the Affordable Care Act and mandatory notices.
- Analyze current benefit programs to align with industry norms and trends.
- Monitor and manage benefit costs, budgets, and pricing.
- Maintain data integrity, perform enrollment audits, and reconcile billing.
- Provide clear communication to employees and management about benefit program features, plans, and options.
- Oversee relationships with vendors, including insurance and pension brokers and consultants.
- Lead and manage the benefits team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in benefits strategy and administration, including wellness and 401(k) programs.
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a benefits leadership role with team management experience.
- Proven experience in vendor management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms; familiarity with Workday is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to health and welfare benefit plans and 401(k) retirement plans.
- Certified Benefits Professional, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications are preferred.
