Telecommunications Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Activate/deactivate data switch ports on CISCO switches and change VLANs as needed.
• Analyze sites' bandwidth usage using OITS tools.
• Process telecommunication work requests from agencies via KIRMs/ServiceNOW.
• Input and maintain accurate cable records in CICS and verify billing accuracy.
• Program features and troubleshoot issues in the State of Kansas VoIP phone system.
• Collaborate with Network Control Center and vendors to troubleshoot voice network outages.
• Coordinate, design, and implement new ACD, UCD, and IVR applications.
• Program and maintain voice mailboxes and Single Digit Menus (IVR Application).
• Provide technical services, consultation, training, and information to agencies on voice and data networking.
• Support state agencies in designing and implementing new technologies.

Requirements:

• Desired Bachelor's degree in a related field such as information technology, computer science, or telecommunications.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications, particularly in data networking, voice systems, and LANs.
• Proficiency in Data, Voice, Video, and LANs.
• Knowledge of Cisco UCM and desk phones
• Experience with telecommunication work request systems such as ServiceNow.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in diagnosing and resolving voice and data networking issues.
• Programming skills related to VoIP phone systems and troubleshooting voice network outages.
