Robotics tester

6 months contract onsite in Waltham

Perform manual robot test procedures, collaborate with hardware engineers, software development engineers, and field application engineers on the health and stability of robots to maximize test time and quality week-to-week.

Role

* Maintain test infrastructure and tools which support hardware and software testing validation and qualification

* Oversight of internal robot SQA fleet, maintaining constant runtime to validate long duration robustness and reliability.

* Performs audits and tests of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures.

* Debug and characterize defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports.

* Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering stakeholders

* Coordinate with SQA Robotics and Automation Engineers on test plan reviews including new features and regression tests

Must haves:

* 3+ years of prior experience as a hardware or software technician

* Understanding of robotics systems including sensors, actuators, mechanical and software systems

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

* High level of initiative and ability to work independently as well as within a team setting

* Hands-on testing and fixing hardware, with a ‘tinkerer/builder’ mindset

* Experience with software workflow tools, in particular Jira and TestRail
