JOB DESCRIPTION:

Title: Senior Data Analyst

Location: McLean, VA (Hybrid 3 Days/Week)

Assignment Type: Temp to Hire



Must Have Skills:

  • Must be proficient with relational databases and have hands on experience using reporting tools including but not limited to Tableau, MS Query, Rapid SQL, and/or MS Access.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite. Must have experience querying using SQL.
  • An ideal candidate would have experience supporting data migrations and maintaining complex data mapping documentation.



About the Role:

  • The team is currently undergoing a significant data transformation process, which involves consolidating three internal systems into a single management system hosted on AWS, a cloud-based backend.
  • Much of the data within these systems is actively utilized for daily operations. Over time, certain data components within the code infrastructure have accumulated. The role in question encompasses not only mapping tasks but also managing synchronization processes. Post-implementation, scheduled for October, our focus will shift towards ensuring data accuracy and establishing it as the backbone of our operational framework.
  • We are not recruiting for development positions. Instead, this role emphasizes data migration and ongoing synchronization tasks, along with the restructuring of essential data components within our web services. No technical development work is involved.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency in SQL querying. Mastery of SQL takes precedence over familiarity with SAS/Python/R, though knowledge of these languages is advantageous. Experience with reporting tools like Tableau is also beneficial.



Qualifications:

  • Typically, 5-7 years of related data analytics experience
  • Bachelor’s degree: Business, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field or equal work experience.
  • Proficient with relational databases and using reporting tools such as Tableau, MS Query, Rapid SQL, and MS Access.
  • Job requires experience using MS Office applications including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of UNIX, VBA & SharePoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a face-paced team environment.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex business concepts and reporting requirements.
  • Experience using SAS/Python/R and working knowledge of SQL.
  • Worked with Tableau or other Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Ability to think critically and logically.
