Pride Health is hiring a Surgical Technician to support our client’s medical facility in New Mexico and other locations. This is a 13 week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist plays an essential role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and the surgical team during various procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, handling instruments, and ensuring all equipment is ready for use before, during, and after surgery. The role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, patient safety, and maintaining a sterile environment. Surgical Technologists are responsible for patient positioning, assisting with wound closure, and maintaining equipment during surgery. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical setting and hold necessary certifications. Flexibility for on-call shifts, weekends, and holiday work is often required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sterile surgical environments and ensure all instruments and equipment are ready for use.
- Assist during surgeries by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgical team.
- Position patients appropriately for surgeries, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Maintain sterile fields throughout the procedure to prevent contamination.
- Assist with wound closure and dressing application after surgery.
- Set up and operate surgical equipment and devices specific to each procedure.
- Count and verify instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after surgery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia teams to ensure efficient and safe surgeries.
- Ensure patient safety by monitoring the surgical environment and following infection control procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly and assist with life-saving interventions when necessary.
Qualifications:
- BLS certifications required. (only from AHA)
- Active Surgical Tech cert from NBSTAA or NCCT required
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and stress management skills.

- Location: New Mexico and other locations
- Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
- Shifts: 8 hour varied shift
- Weekly Pay: $1600 to $1800 (travel pay)
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
