Our client is a series C company that specializes in next-generation cutting edge HVAC control sensors and optimization platforms.
They are looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team who has experience in the start-up world, specifically from a smart building automation / IoT company that has experience with scaling cloud-based architecture and leading teams. This role will be focused on managing 2 engineering teams, and is hybrid one day a week in Menlo Park.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Development: Guide, mentor, and develop a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering strategies with company goals, particularly focusing on the advancement of IoT and smart HVAC technologies.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve processes and techniques used by the engineering team to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key engineering point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring clear communication and successful collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Proven Leadership: At least 4 years of experience managing a team of four or more engineers, with a strong track record of project delivery and team development.
- Industry Experience: Extensive knowledge in IoT, smart buildings, or HVAC systems. Experience in these fields is crucial for understanding the technical challenges and opportunities.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and integrate broad-range visions into actionable, measurable plans.
- Startup Mentality: Prior experience in a startup environment, showcasing flexibility, enthusiasm for tackling challenges head-on, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degrees or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
