The Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC) is a statewide, Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) whose mission is to provide financial resources and technical assistance to business and community development activities that improve economic opportunities in low to moderate income and underserved communities. The primary focus is to provide economic development assistance in business planning, market analysis, marketing strategies, effective day-to-day business operations as well as financing. HWCC also acts as an advocate for underserved communities in Wisconsin regarding business and economic issues.


Role Description

As an Events and Membership Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in advancing HWCC's mission by fostering a vibrant network of small businesses and entrepreneurs. Your responsibilities will include organizing and promoting various events, engaging with members, and driving community outreach initiatives.


Event Coordination & Promotion

  • Assist the Marketing team in promotion and coordination of, and attending HWCC, partner, and community events.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop print and digital marketing materials.
  • Utilize various channels to strategically promote events and maximize attendance.
  • Oversee event logistics, including vendors coordination, and guest registration.
  • Secure partnerships and sponsorships to enhance event offerings.
  • Maintain the HWCC electronic Event Calendar


Membership & Community Outreach

  • Proactively engage with members to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of membership engagement strategies.
  • Facilitate member onboarding and provide ongoing support.
  • Design and execute campaigns to increase awareness and participation in HWCC initiatives.
  • Monitor and report membership retention metrics.
  • Actively participate in community events to promote HWCC's mission.


Qualifications

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Associate degree from an accredited college.
  • 1-2 years of customer service and relationship management experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with diverse communities preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
