Reporting to the Manager, Compensation & Benefits, the (Sr) HR Analyst I/II administers the employee benefits programs including group health and dental plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, life insurance, AD&D, domestic partnerships, COBRA, tuition reimbursement, EAP and other ancillary benefits. Additionally, the (Sr) HR Analyst I/II coordinates the performance management process, assists with compensation program administration and the semi-annual promotion process. The (Sr) HR Analyst I/II is also responsible for compensation and benefits-related updates to the HRIS system, including data entry, configuration and maintaining the integrity of the system.


Essential Functions:



  • Functions as a liaison between benefit consultants, benefit vendors and employees and advises employees on eligibility, coverage, claim resolution and other benefits matters.



  • Reviews and approves benefit elections/changes. Verifies and uploads to Workday required supporting documents and requests from employee if missing.



  • Makes alterations to existing programs and gathers and reports data as necessary. Updates Summary Plan Descriptions, benefit documents and internal webpages as needed.



  • Conducts benefits portion of the new employee on-boarding sessions.



  • Administers COBRA in conjunction with a third party vendor



  • Leads Open Enrollment project, provides support to HR employees, and outside vendors during the Open Enrollment period.



  • Follows up with vendors and suppliers to update records and make changes as necessary. Processes benefit elections for new employees and administers new benefit plans.



  • Serves as a back-up to Sr. Benefits Specialist for disability and leave of absence questions and administration, as well as 401(k) issues and administration.



  • Handles vendor billing and audit/reconciliation of benefit plans.



  • Files required reports such as 1095s, non-discrimination testing, EEO-1 and coordinates reimbursement to employees of the Medical Loss Ratio rebates



  • Participates on Benefits Administration Committee



  • Administers the tuition reimbursement and Awardco recognition programs.



  • Completes compensation surveys and market pricing of jobs.



  • Administers the annual performance review process and completes an analysis of performance ratings.



  • Coordinates the semi-annual promotion cycle.



  • Assists the Manager, Compensation & Benefits with the annual compensation cycle, including processing of merit increases and bonus payments.



  • Presents an overview of the performance management and compensation processes to new managers.



  • Inputs job change, salary change, bonus and benefits data into the HRIS and reviews output for accuracy.



  • Generates standard reports and develops custom reports in Workday, Visier and Awardco for Human Resources, management and auditors. Alters query variables in order to generate more complex or ad-hoc reports.



  • Examines and/or processes personnel action documents using experience in applying HR procedures and policies. Ensures that information is complete and consistent and determines whether further discussion with HR Business Partners or employees is needed.



  • Completes reorganizations and other employee transfers and changes in Workday; works with Access Management Team to ensure their requirements are met.



  • Assists Principal HR Consultant with the support of compensation and benefits modules of the HRIS, including implementation of new enhancements.



  • Partners with HR Business Partner and payroll on benefits items, salary adjustments, bonus payments, severance calculations, tuition and sign-on bonus repayment calculations, time off recalculations related to shiftwork and promotions, and payroll retro reporting.



  • Compiles monthly data on hires, terminations, job changes and milestone anniversaries for publishing in PJM Post.



  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of automated tools including Access Manager, Meeting Room Manager Enterprise, and SAP.



  • Manages the department PO/PRs and reconciles monthly P-Card billing records.



  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and deliver exceptional customer service.



  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.



  • Maintains electronic files and records according to a consistent filing system.



  • Performs other related analyst and administrative duties as assigned.



Characteristics and Qualifications:
Required:




  • HS degree, BS degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience



  • At least 4 years of experience in a Human Resources function



  • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail



  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment



  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis



  • Experience using verbal and written communications skills



  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)



  • Experience with HR processes and data



  • Experience with HR rules and regulations regarding sensitive information and its dissemination



  • Experience with SAP and Workday.




Preferred




  • MS degree in HR



  • At least 4 years of experience with HRIS systems (Workday), compensation and/or benefits administration



  • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions



  • Experience supporting any of PJM Committees



  • Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR)
