Online Training Development Specialist

Position Overview

The online training development specialist works in tandem with the senior content strategist and production team in creating, converting, maintaining, and delivering HAI Group content for online delivery. They will leverage e-learning authoring and creative tools, as well as the Learning Management Systems (LMS), to create, convert, or maintain content for online delivery. They will also assist our customer support specialists when needed with customer care, web support, training, and subscriber onboarding to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and day-to-day operations. The online training development specialist will be a professional with experience in instructional design, online training content development, project management, and training delivery that works collaboratively to meet departmental goals.

Essential Functions

  • Collaboration and creation of educational content, ensuring alignment with project goals and learning objectives while driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Working with the Online Training group, manage the full lifecycle of online training projects, from conception to implementation, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop and tailor educational content into engaging and effective online courses.
  • Apply adult learning theories and instructional design models to create innovative and impactful learning experiences.
  • Build, test, publish, and launch courses in the learning management system.
  • Evaluate and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve online training courses.
  • Assist in maintaining IACET AP compliance.
  • Research and implement new instructional design technologies and tools to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Provide learning management system customer support when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning and development, education, or a related field (equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
  • 2+ years’ experience as an educator, teacher of adult learners, or similar experience developing lesson plans, courses, with a strong foundation in instructional theories and principles.
  • Proven experience in online instructional design.
  • Background in project management, overseeing end-to-end educational content development.
  • Commitment to customer service and a team-oriented environment

Preferred

  • Experience with online training authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360) and multimedia production
  • Familiar with project management concepts and software to manage multiple L&D projects.
  • Familiarity with video and audio production, as well as editing techniques

Work environment & Physical Demands

  • Inside climate-controlled office building
