Position: Design Engineer

Location: Park Falls, Ladysmith, or Medford, WI (HQ)

Employment Type: Hybrid (2-3 days in-office per week)

Key Requirements:


  • Education: BSME or a related technical field (industrial technology or something similar).


  • Experience:
  • 2-7 years of experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates may be considered.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
  • 2+ years of drafting/design experience.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of CAD drafting and design software, specifically 3D modeling.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and material properties.
  • Experience in product commercialization and the development of technical documentation (e.g., BOMs, specifications, engineering changes).


  • Attributes:
  • A strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • High level of grit, determination, and a will to win in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to effectively collaborate with project teams, departments, and stakeholders.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking to solve complex engineering challenges.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of innovative building materials used in high-end custom homes across North America.
  • Develop design solutions using a variety of methodologies, including design thinking, agile development, and minimum viable product (MVP) techniques.
  • Create and refine 2D and 3D engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct material testing, research, and technical investigations to solve product design challenges and improve functionality.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams in R&D, production, and marketing to drive product development from concept to commercialization.
  • Participate in project reviews and actively communicate design progress, issues, and solutions to internal teams.
  • Stay current on relevant technical developments, materials, and trends by researching industry literature, suppliers, and patent information.
