Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The Infrastructure Support Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our company's technological infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional support to our internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and optimize the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and other critical components.


Technical Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.


Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company's data, systems, and networks from cybersecurity threats, including malware, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access.


Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard business-critical data and ensure rapid restoration in the event of system failures or data loss incidents.


Infrastructure Upgrades: Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to minimize disruptions and optimize performance.


Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations, and provide training and guidance to end-users to promote efficient and secure use of technology resources.


Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and service providers to procure IT equipment and services, negotiate contracts, and resolve issues related to hardware/software procurement and maintenance.


Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure management, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance the company's IT capabilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure support roles, with a focus on server administration, network management, and security operations.
  • Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
