Title: Chemist l


Overview:

As a Quality Control Chemist I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that raw materials and finished products are tested promptly and in compliance with cGMP documentation requirements. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct laboratory testing activities that support the overarching goals of the company while maintaining the highest standards of product quality.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform identification (ID) testing, including Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and composition testing, ensuring compliance with USP monographs and general chapters.
  • Conduct wet chemistry testing, such as loss on drying, Karl Fischer titration, pH measurements, titrations, and solution preparations.
  • Support daily laboratory operations by cleaning glassware, disposing of solvent waste, and calibrating balances on a regular basis.
  • Assist upper-level Quality Control Chemists as needed with their tasks and projects.
  • Utilize instruments like High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and/or Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) for strength testing.
  • Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule, including availability to work holidays and weekends as requested by Quality Control Lab Supervisor/Management.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Lab Supervisor or management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific Discipline
  • 6 - 18 months of experience in a GLP setting (Chemist Level ll Opening for anyone with 2+ years of experience with HPLC)
