Position Overview

The Healthcare Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and assessing the risk of healthcare loans, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and standards. This position plays a critical role in the approval process, working closely with loan applicants and healthcare providers to facilitate funding and support the growth of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate loan applications and financial documents to determine the creditworthiness of applicants.
  • Analyze risk factors and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines specific to healthcare loans.
  • Collaborate with loan officers and healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation and information for underwriting decisions.
  • Make informed recommendations for loan approvals or adjustments based on thorough analysis.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac guidelines to ensure adherence in the underwriting process.
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members on underwriting processes and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in healthcare loans.
  • Strong knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac underwriting guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
