Century Construction Company, Inc. is a 60-year-old, employee-owned company. Eighty percent of our projects are in Central Virginia. Our services include General Contracting, Design-Build Construction, Construction Management and Pre-Construction Services. Seventy-five percent of our work comes from repeat customers and most projects start with Pre-Construction Services.

We construct a wide variety of commercial buildings in power generation, telecommunications, manufacturing, education, recreation, faith-based, senior care and tenant markets. We maintain a 50-year relationship with Butler Manufacturing, the largest and highest quality designer and fabricator of Pre-Engineered Structures. Initial engineering is performed in-house and fifty percent of our projects include a pre-engineered component.

 

Role Description:


We are seeking a project manager who shares our company values and seeks a career with our Team. Good communication skills, customer relations and sales ability are as important as technical skills. There will be opportunities for advancement and leadership.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Managing the Submittal and the Request for Information processes.
  • Scheduling and managing Owner-Architect-Contractor Meetings.
  • Creating and Distributing Meeting Minutes.
  • Creating and updating Critical Path Method Schedules.
  • Creating Schedules of Values and Monthly Invoices.
  • Cost management.
  • Creating and managing project safety plans.
  • Estimating.
  • New customer outreach.
  • Sales presentations.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years construction industry experience.
  • Knowledge in Critical Path Method Scheduling.
  • Applicable college degree.
  • Ability to professionally interact with tradesmen, field supervisors, sub-contractors, design professionals and owners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of construction.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the U.S


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years construction industry experience.
  • Experience with Procore Project Management Software.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Training.
  • Richmond construction market experience.
  • College degree in engineering or construction management.
