Launch your career at LaClare Creamery We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated, detail orientated Packaging Production Assistant to support our 1st shift cheese packaging team in crafting the highest quality of cheeses.


This position will typically work Monday-Thursday 5:00am - 3:00pm or Monday-Friday 6am-2pm with some overtime as necessary, includes competitive pay starting at $19/hour, full benefits, and monthly bonus opportunities


Reports to: Packaging Supervisor


Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Packaging Supervisor and production team to complete all tasks within the production areas
  • Assists in operating equipment in the cheese packaging process, successfully making a safe, quality product.
  • Production: Assisting with all production runs and documenting all steps in make procedure to ensure accurate, consistent, safe, and quality products every time
  • Performs product tests, records results, and makes necessary adjustments according to recipe specifications
  • Monitors, prepares, and changes equipment in the cheese packaging process
  • Remains aware of work environment sounds to detect abnormalities in equipment operation
  • Sanitation: Keep a clean work environment. Wash, rinse, sanitize and return all equipment back to its designated area immediately after done using. Complete time of use, daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly sanitation scheduled responsibilities along with documentation once work is complete.
  • Follows all policies and procedures LaClare Creamery has implemented regarding food and personal safety to assist in maintaining a safe work environment and safe, quality products at all times.

  • Techniques - stay current on cheese making techniques and food safety regulations used by professionals in the industry. Read and study available literature about all aspects of cheese making (making techniques, pressing, aging, etc.).
  • Lift - be able to lift 50+lbs continuously, stand for 8 hours/day and occasionally twist, bend, climb, grasp and other repetitive movements
  • Flexible to various creamery environments including unloading, making, painting, packaging, aging, and shipping.

  • Annually complete all trainings within LaClare Creamery Training Matrix
  • Annually complete Appendix N certification
  • Annually complete HACCP training
