Essential Duties

•Responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms, servers, and networks. Install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the operating environment.

•Maintain the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure including monitoringthe operating environments; responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth.

•Deploy the release of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and performtesting of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware.

•Troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Web access and electronic messagingservices and maintaining a secure systems environment.

•Provide infrastructure solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth, install newservers and maintain the infrastructure.

•Analyze network traffic flow

•Build and install VMware hypervisor hardware and virtual machines.•Monitor systems and virtual network performance daily and pinpoint/address problem areas.

•Design and install upgrades, patches, firmware/drivers.

•Remediate hardware issues concerning the VMware environment to include lifecycle of ESXi Host Servers (installation of new Servers, decommission of older Servers).

•Investigate issues, conducting root cause analysis, address problems.

•Evaluate industry trends and assist in implementing standards and best practices.

•Assist with Windows monthly Patching and Active Directory tasks

•Assist in migration and consolidation of networks, physical and Active Directory

•Work with Security team to resolve any vulnerabilities to environments in relation to DISA STIG & VAT ISVM.

Minimum Experience, Education and Certification:

•Active Top-Secret clearance;

•7 years supporting multiple systems or applications of medium to highly complex (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility

•Proficient with virtualization platforms and applications such as VMWare

•Proficient with storage management and technologies

•Working knowledge of government security requirements for configurations, remediations, and application specific settings

•Need good communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with clients and other technical colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with customer and end-users, Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
