Position Title: Grants Manager
Reports to: Director of Development
Position Summary: The Grants Manager is an essential role on the Lazarus House Ministries (LHM) development team and works closely with its team members as well as with other LHM teams and leadership. The incumbent is responsible to cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation, government, and corporate prospects and funders to secure approximately 20% of the annual overall development revenue to support general operating and program needs. The Grants Manager will work with other LHM individuals, teams and leadership to research, write and track compelling grant proposals and funding requests.
Position Description:
- Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to research, prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundations, government, corporations, and other funding sources.
- Prospect, research and identify new grant funding opportunities and identify demographic information required in order to obtain funds.
- As needed, identify and solicit funders for capital funds or projects that fall outside of operating support.
- Partner with internal departments to understand current program needs to stay current with data and trends for clients served to identify potential funding sources and complete compelling grant applications.
- Work with the Director of Development and other Development team members to create and execute a grant-specific development strategy.
- Utilizing a spreadsheet system, track current grant cycles and renewal processes and ensure stewardship to maintain and increase future funding.
- Work with finance department and accounting to gather necessary information to secure grant funding.
- Maintain and build relationships through stewardship of current and prospective donors including: regular written updates as required (funding usage report), planning and leading onsite tours to current and prospective foundations, corporations, and other funding sources and additional ongoing written and verbal communications.
- Maintain current grant funder records, record notes, actions, contact updates, and gift information in appropriate database and/or donor management system.
- Assist with/participate in Lazarus House major fundraising and special events when needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years fundraising experience including grant writing.
- Proven track record of grant revenue success.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to effectively prioritize, handle multiple assignments and duties, manage time, and adhere to deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual verbal fluency in English/Spanish preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Donor Management Systems experience preferred, ideally intermediate proficiency in Raisers Edge Donor Management Systems strongly preferred
