As a Senior Network Engineer, your primary responsibilities include:



Network Design and Implementation

  • Plan, design, and implement sophisticated network solutions tailored to meet the needs of our organization, including support for remote branches, on-premises data centers, and cloud-based resources.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and procure network hardware and software solutions that enhance our infrastructure.


Network Security

  • Implement and maintain robust network security measures to protect data, applications, and infrastructure from potential threats.
  • Monitor network traffic for security vulnerabilities and respond to incidents in a timely manner, safeguarding our operations.


Network Optimization

  • Continuously optimize network performance and capacity to ensure high availability and reliability across all services.
  • Identify and address network bottlenecks and performance challenges, uniquely enhancing overall performance.


Troubleshooting and Support

  • Provide multi-level support for all network-related issues, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate effectively with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex network problems.


Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network infrastructure, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.


Compliance and Best Practice

  • Ensure our network infrastructure meets industry best practices and adheres to relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Stay ahead of emerging network technologies, providing recommendations for continual improvement.


Vendor Management

  • Engage with vendors and service providers to procure and manage network-related services and equipment efficiently.


Additional Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain uninterrupted network and security services supporting the organization's infrastructure.
  • Implement updates, patches, and upgrades across various network hardware.
  • Manage layer 1 connectivity as appropriate and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of infrastructure technical experience, including at least 3 years of managing network infrastructure.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Proficient in managing firewalls, WAFs, VPNs, switches, routers (both physical and virtual), and cloud networks.
    • Deep understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN design and implementation.
    • Experience with network capacity planning and managing DHCP, DNS, IPAM, ITAM, logging, and monitoring platforms.
    • Skilled in using load balancers, cloud interconnects (e.g., ExpressRoutes), and Edge/WAN management technologies.
    • Familiarity with IP routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, as well as network automation and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
    • Practical knowledge of modern encryption protocols, decryption, inline inspection, and user-ID based policy management.
    • Experience with Palo Alto is highly desired
