Senior Financial Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Data Scientist who has a knack for working with the business to understand business process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the finance domain, with a proven track record of developing and operationalizing data-driven solutions. Candidates that apply need to have worked in an AWS cloud environment.


This position will start out by being a 3 month contract, could get extended based on performance and client budget. No C2C and No 3rd party vendors.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operationalize production-grade data products and solutions within the financial domain.
  • Collect, integrate, process, and analyze large datasets efficiently to drive business decisions.
  • Apply sound knowledge of data science and machine learning algorithms to solve complex financial problems.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and modeling tasks.
  • Collaborate with application developers to design and develop insightful data visualizations using tools like highcharts.js and Plot.ly
  • Utilize AWS cloud and analytics services to enhance data processing and storage capabilities.
  • Analyze, summarize, and present quantitative and qualitative information in a clear and cogent manner to stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve data analysis workflows using version control systems such as Git, GitLab, or GitHub
  • Champion the implementation of industry standards and best coding practices to maintain high-quality codebases.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial data science or a related finance domain.
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing and operationalizing data products/solutions.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data collection, integration, processing, and analysis.
  • 2-3 years of experience with AWS cloud services and analytics tools.
  • 3-5 years of experience with version control workflows and technologies.
  • A passion for excellence and continuous improvement in the field of data science.


Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
