we are currently seeking an experienced Technical Designer to engineer best-in-class fit for a broad range of knit apparel. This role is a hybrid role that requires an on-site presence in our Asheboro NC office for a part of each week. Apparel industry experience is a must for this hybrid role.


Responsibilities include:


  • Create and improve detailed technical drawings and specifications such as patterns and blocks, for garments, including measurements, construction methods, and material requirements, in collaboration with the fashion design team. 


  • Communicate directions on technical specifications to supply chain partners such as manufacturers and fabric mills) on tech pack, patterns, and construction.


  • Lead and manage fittings, providing guidance and recommendations to improve fit and overall design aesthetics, and effectively relay this information to factories. 


  • Implement the consolidation of standard fit blocks, with all items maintained in digital libraries.


  • Resolve any technical issues that may arise during the garment development process, offering creative solutions to overcome challenges and maintain design integrity.

 

Qualifications/ Experience Required:


  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or professional qualification in design, textile sciences, fashion merchandising
  • Proficient in digital applications including Browzwear, Illustrator, PLM, Microsoft Excel etc.
  • Advanced knowledge in drafting, drafting, block creation, pattern creation and adjustments, and construction to achieve consistent fit.
  • Excellent knowledge of Patternmaking and grading, Fit evaluation, creating tech pack content (specs, sketching etc.), Draping, Sewing, and Tailoring
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in Knits apparel, intimate apparel and athleisure experience (preferred)
  • Experience leading communications on fit and construction to overseas factories.
