Description

Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense, and space OEMs, Primes, and Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts machined using standard and exotic metals. Primus works directly with all major aerospace manufacturers (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman) to provide components for mission-critical civilian and defense programs.


The Program Manager is responsible for the quality and efficiency of new product introductions including business processes and technical issues. The position covers a wide array of duties and requires excellent managerial and organizational skills along with superior project management capabilities to champion new product introductions. This position also resolves technical challenges and issues as they arise to Primus and customer management. A solid technical background in a manufacturing environment is required. The Program Manager works closely with Sales, Operations, and Engineering at all levels of the organization, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills.




Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact with aerospace customer program team, technical, procurement, and quality offices for development projects and growth within the departments.
  • Develop project and job plans for assigned programs including action Item lists, statements of work (SOWs), etc.
  • Determine overall scope of effort; work up cost and schedule estimates.
  • Manage the overall performance of all program-related efforts.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and schedule of activities.
  • Reporting of program status and performance to company management.



Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of program management experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing build-to-print environment.
  • Proficient computer and applications software skills: MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • PMP/Agile experience required, certification a plus.
  • Estimating, product costing, and negotiating experience
  • Product development, project planning, coordination, and management
  • Organizational and logistics management experience required.
  • Security Clearance preferred or eligible to obtain one
  • Possess technical skills to lead or leverage cross functional teams: Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) to evaluate, develop, and manage projects for product development.
