Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel to clients and advise them on day-to-day employment and labor matters;
  • Negotiate and draft employment agreements, settlement agreements, noncompetition agreements and other legal agreements;
  • Conduct audits and investigations of client employment and labor law practices;
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues;
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and administrative position statements;
  • Represent clients in court and administrative proceedings, including hearings and trials;
  • Willing and able to accept a critical role in litigation and administrative discovery;
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop legal strategies and case plans;
  • Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas;
  • Manage a caseload and meet deadlines for assigned tasks; and
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records.


Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school;
  • Licensed to practice law in Nebraska;
  • Seven (7) plus years of employment and labor counseling and litigation experience preferred;
  • A strong desire to play an integral role in a growing dynamic area of the law that requires continued learning and growth;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently;
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff; and
  • Experience with legal research tools and software
