Job Title: Career/Guidance Counselor



Client: Hiring for a Career/Guidance Counselor



Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Career/Guidance Counselor to join their team in supporting educational and career advancement initiatives. The Career/Guidance Counselor will play a critical role in providing career counseling, coordinating adult education and training programs, and building partnerships with union leaders and educational vendors. This role requires strong advising skills, collaboration with labor-management committees, and experience in workforce development.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Offer students educational and career guidance, process tuition assistance requests, and assist members with program enrollment.
  • Coordinate adult education and skills training classes in partnership with vendors, marketing programs effectively to recruit participants.
  • Work closely with union staff and leaders to promote educational programs, encouraging member engagement and outreach.
  • Identify, research, and negotiate with educational vendors, ensuring high-quality programs that meet member needs.
  • Collaborate with labor-management committees to assess training requirements and promote educational offerings.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as directed by management.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare, labor management, education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in workforce development, higher education, career counseling, training coordination, or labor-management programs, including managing logistics and tracking outcomes.
  • Proven experience in career coaching and advising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with union representatives and maintain strong partnerships.
