Position Objective: 

The Architectural Designer is instrumental in steering the organization and progression of all projects through Construction Documentation. This role emphasizes the quality and timeliness of design and documentation while collaborating extensively with clients and internal teams to uphold the firm’s design standards and client expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Design and Documentation Oversight:

  • Manage the design and documentation of all projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
  • Utilize Revit to produce detailed construction drawings for commercial building projects of various sizes and complexities.
  • Ensure design specifications align with safety standards, government regulations, and client needs.


2. Client and Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate directly with clients during design and documentation phases, addressing their needs and incorporating feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure accuracy and quality of early design work.

 

3. Research and Development:

  • Research materials and assemblies for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Conduct research, attend workshops, and participate in conferences to stay updated with the latest design trends and technology.

 

4. Standards and Compliance:

  • Establish Department standards, including Revit standards and templates, and ensure compliance within the department.
  • Update construction documents during the construction phase as directed by the Lead, Architectural Designer, Project Manager and Architect.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in BIM applications, specifically Revit and BIM360, and experience working with AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with overlapping deadlines effectively and work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, representing the company with integrity and accountability for business performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Architecture or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of commercial drafting experience and familiarity with building design, construction means, methods, and techniques.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 6+ years of commercial drafting experience.
  • Proficiency in creating high-level interior and exterior renderings and experience in writing technical specifications.
