Randstad is searching for a Sr. Web Developer to support a growing program within a prestigious and well known government client located in Mountain View, CA. The Web Developer will support COTS, Open Source, and internally developed software and websites for various applications and tools that support the HPC system and its users. The candidate will be responsible for developing and building of web sites and front-end applications, installing and configuring solutions, implementing reusable components, translating technical requirements, assisting with all stages of test data, and performing script maintenance and updates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing new user-facing features and functionality
  • Implementing visual elements and user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ensuring websites and applications meet client standards for accessibility, security, and reliability
  • Collaborating with back-end developers, designers, and stakeholders to achieve web project goals
  • Maintaining and improving existing websites and applications
  • Day-to-day operations within the Tools Group and assigned projects
  • Work on complex projects to integrate new tools and features into legacy web applications
  • Build/maintain automated deployments through the use of configuration management
  • Support and maintain websites and web applications provided the by Tools Team
  • Deploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the production environment
  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and correct application and website issues
  • Developing scripts to automate repetitive tasks or tools to enhance support
  • Application performance analysis and tuning
  • Participate in and/or Lead Project Planning meetings while providing guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefits
  • Develop operational requirements and development forecasts
  • Rotating on shift support and after hours support as required
  • Create/maintain documentation and curate solutions repository to include, but not limited to internal wikis and knowledgebases
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or related field with demonstrated experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of development experience in project team environments
  • Strong background in using Linux systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of responsive design and standards-based design
  • Knowledge of browser testing and debugging
  • Experience creating prototypes, mockups, and technical documentation
  • Experience preparing images and video for delivery on websites
  • Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries like React, Vue, jQuery, D3
  • Familiarity with source control tools like git
  • Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work, and ability to multitask
  • Good communication skills and can communicate effectively with staff, customers, and managers
  • Strong work habits and the ability to work independently as well as within a group setting
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead moderately complex projects
