Join Our Team as a Bilingual DOT Specialist
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for compliance and organization? We are looking for a DOT Specialist to support our Human Resources and Department of Transportation (DOT) programs. This role is crucial in ensuring our company meets all regulatory requirements and maintains a safe, compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure DOT Compliance: Initiate and manage DOT files to ensure full compliance across all regions.
- Employee and Manager Coordination: Communicate with employees and managers regarding license and medical card recertifications and coordinate necessary appointments for physicals, functional assessments, and drug tests.
- Records Management: Communicate with the Secretary of State to verify records, handle DOT employment verification requests with third-party vendors, and update employee records in various systems.
- Process Audits and Monitoring: Organize and audit drug testing processes, monitor motor vehicle records monthly, and manage the DOT Annual Review process.
- Regulatory Updates: Attend webinars to stay informed on federal and state regulations.
- Leave Management: Oversee and administer leave requests, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and personal medical leaves.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with Fleet, Safety, Insurance, and other departments to support DOT compliance and other HR functions.
What You Bring:
- Bilingual: Fluency is Spanish is a requirement for this role.
- Education and Knowledge: High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong attention to detail, particularly in database management and record-keeping. Excellent problem-solving skills and a professional, customer-focused communication style are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
