ESTATE PLANNING & ELDER LAW

Legal Assistant

Opportunity to work as a legal assistant in a fast paced, growing legal practice concentrating on estate planning, elder law and special needs planning.

Job duties:

  • Schedule and coordinate attorney and client meetings and legal services.
  • Download, print, scan, and share electronic copies of complex legal documents.
  • Enter data as requested in multiple software programs, including Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, Powerpoint), WealthCounsel, DecisionVault, Simplifile, and Clio.
  • Open and close legal matters in case management system and hard copy files.
  • Organize and label hard-copy files.
  • Professional communication with clients, team members, referral sources, and other contacts utilizing multiple platforms including email, business texting, client portals, videoconferencing, and telephone calls.
  • Work under the supervision of an attorney and NC Certified Paralegal accepting and completing tasks in an efficient, complete, and professional manner.

  • Demonstrated interest in a career in the legal industry, such as enrollment in a paralegal or similar legal studies program or a combination of similar education or experience in the legal industry or public interest sector.
