Job Summary:

The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the sales team in obtaining and retaining customers by performing administrative and various clerical tasks. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales Support Specialist to join our team at VP Logistics. As a Sales Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our sales team, providing essential administrative and coordination support to ensure the smooth operation of the sales process. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the sales team by preparing various reports, sales materials and presentations, and aid in the oversight of customer requests and quotes.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer inquiries, resolving issues or escalating to the appropriate team members as needed.
  • Assist with customer accounts, following up with customers for administrative purposes, and providing troubleshooting assistance for orders, account statuses, and other related issues.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to leadership, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and arranging travel logistics.
  • Provide support to the sales team by preparing reports, sales materials, quotations, and customer proposals.
  • Identify and coordinate trade show booth materials and logistics. Perform post-event follow-ups and analyze tradeshow success and incorporate feedback for future events.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Associate of bachelor’s degree in business administration, Communication, Marketing or Supply Chain Management, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of administrative/support experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of sales practices and efficient customer service techniques.
  • Working knowledge of CRM technology – HubSpot experience is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to speak easily and communicate in writing and on a telephone for varying lengths of time and in random order.

Travel Required:

Occasional availability to travel independently between both office locations (Waukegan and Chicago).
