Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cryogenic Engineer. This opportunity is for a self-motivated individual to join our field engineering team as part our Advanced Processing Solutions division. We are seeking a Cryogenic Test Management Engineer to join our team based out of Linthicum, MD. This role will focus on transformational technology, state-of-the-art next generation superconducting electronics, and advanced computing technologies.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrating project management skills and championing process improvement activities.
  • Establishing and analyzing test procedures.
  • Devising and implementing methods and procedures for evaluating the accuracy of test stand installs and qualification.
  • Devising and implementing methods and procedures for tracking test assets and developing a plan for periodic review of assets activity (e.g., in use, idle, at calibration, needs repair/upgrade, awaiting final disposition, etc.) across multiple labs.
  • Providing reports on the status of all assets to the program offices as required.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with 5 years of related experience, or 3-7 years with a master’s degree, or 0-4 years with a PhD.
  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to team members both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic test systems.
  • Cabling and Rack installation/cyber system integration experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with superconducting electronics test platforms.
  • Experience with cryogenic test environments.
  • Experience with microwave electronics.
  • Experience with systems software such as MatLab, Solidworks, or LabView.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance
