JOB SUMMARY:

The Programmer II is an integral member of the electrical team and is responsible for creating complex programs in support of the custom equipment and automation provided.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create accurate control ladder diagrams, PLC and PC based control schemes
  • Establish efficient power, wiring, and control standards in a short timeline. Clearly present all data analysis and recommendations. Monitor controls and equipment via remote connection
  • Complete the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software
  • Interpret equipment requests and develop design specifications
  • Design controls systems including HMIs and touchscreen
  • Maintain an understanding of industrial controls and their application in the finishing industry
  • Assist with commissioning, preventive maintenance, emergency response, consulting, warranty, repair and technical direction on industrial electrical equipment
  • Lead or participate in multi-discipline product development and corrective action teams to address product cost, quality, and delivery concerns
  • Every employee is expected to support the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Quality Procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE, SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

  • Associate’s Degree with 7-12 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 3-8 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 0-6 years of experience
  • Demonstrated subject matter proficiency in core products, technologies, and/or standards


PREFERRED TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Studio5000 and TIA Portal)
  • Proficiency in HMI Design (FactoryTalk View Enterprise and WinCC)
  • Proficiency in setting up parameters of Variable Frequency Drives
  • Ability to complete and process items in accordance with established guidelines
  • Ability to perform duties in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy
