Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor

Department: Engineering

Reports To: VP Engineering

Status: Non - Exempt

Responsibilities:

 Read and interpret blueprints and specifications

 Layout of curbs, structures, drainage, basins, utilities and edge of pavements, including grade

calculations

 Assist with gathering as-built (record survey) data when required

 Conduct existing condition surveys

 Resolve technical problems and assist with training field employees on GPS equipment

 Establish GPS Control / calibrations for field operations

 Setup and maintain GPS equipment for field operations, including machine controls

 Work closely with Riegler field and office personnel

Qualifications:

 3 years + experience jobsite layout staking

 Associates degree (preferred) related to surveying

 Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications

 Experience using GPS and robotic surveying technologies, methods, and software

 Proficiency with Trimble (preferred) construction layout software and equipment

 Ability to work 5-6 days a week, 8-12 hours a day
