Maintenance Lead

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective management of all maintenance work requests from operations and support groups. Ensures internal customers receive timely and quality service so production requirements are met. Adheres to accepted analytical principles in determining proper course of action before making repairs. Maintains zero incident mind-set and ensures safety compliance of maintenance personnel and contractors. Responsible for the general maintenance of equipment in the Distribution center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the day-to-day training, scheduling, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance requirements, repairs and installation.
• Implements safety and good housekeeping practices.
• Assist the maintenance staff by delegating tasks, prioritizing work / Preventative Maintenance schedules and maintaining a knowledgeable staff of mechanics.
• Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and / or project.
• Coordinates input from internal customers to better understand needs and / or perceptions.
• Provides support as needed to assist in managing compliance activities with local, state and federal agencies as required.
• Provides communication on status of maintenance activities to appropriate stakeholders.
• Pursues cost reductions whenever applicable.
• Follows-up and resolve issues.
• Maintains all DC Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Insures proper Log Out Tag Out procedures are being followed.
• Responsible for all safety signs, lift area, eye wash stations and all general DC safety items.
• Perform other duties assigned.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college or technical school / Associate's Degree preferred.
• Training in skilled trade’s area or equivalent technical training.
• Read, write, add subtract, multiply and divide – understand implied instructions.
• Excellent attendance is required.
• Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Oral and written communications skills
• Knowledge of basic mechanical concepts.
• Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to distribution processes.
• Ability to learn and comprehend distribution/production business is required.
• Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced team environment.
