Job Title: Tooling Engineer

Location: Onsite (5 days/week)

As a Tooling Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of tooling processes to support our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and quality of our tooling systems, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop tooling solutions for foundry and investment casting processes, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, develop tooling specifications, and integrate new tooling systems into the manufacturing process.
  3. Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and risk assessments for new tooling projects, providing recommendations for improvement and optimization.
  4. Optimize existing tooling processes to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency, utilizing principles of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  5. Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for tooling-related issues, working closely with production teams to resolve problems and minimize downtime.
  6. Lead or participate in new product development projects, contributing tooling expertise to ensure successful product launches and efficient manufacturing processes.
  7. Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation and records of tooling designs, specifications, and modifications, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in foundry operations, investment casting, and tool and die design.
  • Proven track record of success in process optimization, new product development, and tooling engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly coachable and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies and methodologies.
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week.
