Structural Engineer

Our company provides a variety of engineering services in all types of industries, including industrial, commercial, municipal, and occasionally residential. We are looking for a motivated and confident candidate to join our team. Typical tasks assigned to an engineer at our firm may include evaluating existing structure or conditions, determining necessary improvements, collaborating with collogues and clients to determine appropriate design elements, 2D and 3D modeling of design concepts or existing conditions, construction site monitoring or inspections, and more as determined necessary. Please bear in mind that this is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients and design team (both internal and sub-consulted) in developing project goals and deliverables.
- Develop design concepts and present ideas to principal engineer and/or clients, as needed.
- Follow project instructions from managers and/or supervisors.
- Create project drawings and/or documents.
- Modify drawings based on decisions made prior, during, and after construction phases.
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Keep project status updated in project management system.
- Maintain strong communication between collogues and clients.
- Answer questions presented by construction personnel, clients, and supervisors.
- Follow all government and company health and safety regulations when on job site, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Registered EIT in Tennessee, or willing to register within one-year of hire.
- Experience in Industrial and Municipal projects as a member of the engineering team, particularly with heavy steel and concrete construction. Or have comparable exposure from internships or university projects.
- Experience and proficiency in calculations, proofs, and other validation methods of structures, assemblies, or other as necessary. Experience with FEA software a must.
- Experience with computer systems including Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and other production related programs and systems.
- Attention to detail, both macro and micro.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Positive attitude and consistent work ethic.
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team, along with outside consultants.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management, including reporting, verbal, and written.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed to meet project deadlines.
