Plant Manager

The Plant Manager will have experience managing both a production facility and a team. They should be able to analyze each step of the manufacturing process and make effective use of resources to deliver desired outcomes. The candidate will also have an ability to follow safety and compliance guidelines diligently in order to create a healthy work environment for all employees.
The Plant Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, inventory, and personnel management within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Plant Manager will manage all plant operations, ensuring effective coordination between departments to meet production, maintenance, safety, quality, and sanitation targets.
- Maintain the highest standards of product quality, safety, and employee well-being within the facility always.
- Foster open communication across departments to align with strategic and operational objectives.
- The Plant Manager will serve as a liaison to provide feedback to corporate on process and procedure changes, addressing their impact on products and staff.
- Select, guide, and motivate departmental leaders within the plant.
- Organize and participate in productive production, safety, quality, maintenance, and sanitation meetings to achieve overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to drive improvements in individual, team, and organizational performance.
- The Plant Manager will partner with Human Resources on talent management, performance evaluations, and recruitment efforts.
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders in plant maintenance, quality, safety, logistics, sanitation, and production.
- Build trusted relationships, drawing insights from business knowledge, best practices, and industry trends to guide decision-making.
- Hold full responsibility for the plant’s financial operations, including managing the P&L.
- The Plant Manager will ensure the facility is always audit-ready for customer or regulatory inspections.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning by staying updated with new technologies and processes in the industry.
Qualifications and Skills:
- The Plant Manager must hold a bachelor’s degree in business or Operations Management.
- Must have 15 years of experience in the Natural Cheese, Dairy and Whey manufacturing industry.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years in a supervisory or leadership role, with deep knowledge of manufacturing processes from the cheese, creamery/ dairy manufacturing industry.
- The Plant Manager must be proficient in operational finances, capital expenditure, and industry standards.
- Proven ability to interact with integrity and professionalism at all levels of the organization.
- Quick decision-making skills, with the ability to implement solutions and drive change.
- The Plant Manager must have strong project management skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Professional presentation skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and lead effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- The Plant Manager must be flexible in shifts and schedules.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
