Software Systems Engineer – Robotics Integration and product development

As a member of our engineering team, you will work with companies across many different industries ranging in size from startups to large companies, helping them to integrate the latest in cobot welding technologies into their manufacturing processes. Internally you will work on advanced R&D motion control projects to develop Kinetic Technologies’ products that ease integration and drive robotic adoption. You will work from concept to installation with customers. You will work hands-on with our positioning products, customers and R&D team to build really cool robotic technology. Due to the nature of the position this will be an on-site (hybrid for people that live within 2 hours of the headquarters), day shift position in Algona, Iowa. No sponsorship will be offered for this position, must be able to work in the United States.

• Senior level position - 5+ years of software development experience
• Engineering degree from an accredited university
• Microsoft Visual Studio IDE based C++ programming expertise, mastery level with an emphasis on controls logic and writing for an RTOS
• Can write Python Daemons, Java UI (U/R CAP development), and in C#(Fanuc Device Ecosystem). This will not be the focus of the work, but this position will be required to interact and direct on-site and off-site project teams to develop robot specific teach pendant software (U/R CAP, Fanuc Devices Eco-System, ABB, etc)
• Experience with common Industrial Automation communication protocols a plus (Ethernet IP, Profinet, EtherCAT, TWINCAT, MODBUS)
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience maintaining production software in an automated build environment, working with common software deployment tools (Jenkins, Hudson, etc.)
• Self Starter - this will be the first software position in the company, the right individual will have the competency to build a great foundation for future software development and developers long into the future.
• Ability to manage teams - although this position will initially be a non-management position the perfect fit would be able to build the foundation of our software team and when needed project manage or people manage a software team from the ground floor.
