In 2011, Davids’ founder began looking into the ingredients being used in the "natural" toothpaste he was using. After discovering that many of the ingredients were less healthy and that better alternatives were unavailable, a "simple" idea of creating his own toothpaste was formed. This initial idea turned into a four-year obsession to develop the healthiest AND highest performance toothpaste available. Davids was born and launched in 2015.

With distribution at Whole Foods, Anthropologie, Goop, Free People, and hundreds of natural grocers and zero-waste boutiques, the company has developed a premium distribution footprint. The company is in the process of launching a full suite of oral care products and is entering a phase of rapid growth.

Director of Operations

Davids Natural Toothpaste is looking for a Head of Operations to drive excellence across the company’s operations, from production through fulfillment. This person will manage the inventory lifecycle, lead demand planning and procurement, oversee production, quality management and regulatory compliance, and manage warehouse operations.  The ideal candidate will be emphatic about optimizing gross margins, have command over ERP and Inventory systems, and be highly process oriented. She/He will be self-motivated, able to succeed in a fast growing entrepreneurial environment, willing to roll-up their sleeves and possess strong communication skills. This position will report directly to the CEO and Founder Eric Buss. 

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Operations will be responsible for planning, directing the global supply chain, from production through fulfillment to the consumer, and lead the technology solutions that enable our business to grow. He/She will be responsible for:

-        Driving continuous improvement and efficiency across the execution of the business

-        Understanding the systems landscape and business operations end-to-end to best lead the ERP, IT systems, and FDA regulatory requirements  

-        Production planning and management

-        Demand planning, forecasting, inventory analysis and supply planning to ensure healthy inventory levels at all times

-        Inventory management to ensure efficient and financially responsible management of inventory

-        Vendor management to ensure products and raw materials are delivered on time, on spec, in compliance and in the most cost efficient manner

-        Product development lifecycle: collaborating closely with the CEO and marketing department to ensure new product development is completed on time and efficiently

-        Warehouse management to optimize labor and ensure efficient execution of fulfillment against customer service standards

-        Manage quality control and regulatory requirements to ensure FDA compliance and CGMP (current good manufacturing practices)

-        Work closely with the management team to ensure strong planning and execution of business through growth cycles

Requirements

• 10 years of operational leadership, production, fulfillment and warehouse operations preferably with a manufacturing retail and/or consumer product company
• Proven experience managing supply chain: sourcing, cost negotiations, logistics, fulfillment
• Skilled with inventory management and demand planning   
• Working logistics knowledge for developing and leading strategic efficiency for global operations 
• Project management experience, demonstrating a knowledge for leading business analysis and systems implementation for optimizing decision making through technology solutions 
• Experience with quality management, FDA compliance and CGMP a plus
• Deep understanding of both systems landscape and business operations end-to-end in order to best lead the technology solutions for the organization. 
• Strong business acumen, attention to detail and ability to work in a faced paced environment
• This candidate possesses a natural propensity to identify risks early to ensure proper planning is created 
• Willingness to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes
