MEP Designer

MEP Engineer/Designer

Unified Engineering is an MEP consulting firm located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, specializing in industrial and complex commercial design projects. We are looking to hire an MEP Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to be a part of our new expanding business. This position is open to individuals with a background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing design.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various projects with support and direction from engineering team using AutoCAD MEP software.
• Produce construction drawing sets suitable for pricing, permitting and construction.
• Lead coordination efforts between MEP disciplines and other trades.
• Develop and maintain company drafting standards.
• Conduct field surveys and site evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Enjoys critical thinking and the problem-solving process
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Able to read and interpret mechanical, structural and architectural drawing sets.
• Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• 2+ years’ experience of MEP design experience
• Capable of time management and possesses good organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team or individual situations
• Excellent communication skills

Engineering degree is a plus

Microstation experience is a plus
