What You'll DoAs an Engineering Supervisor at Nucor Tubular Products in Cedar Springs, you will be an integral member of the operations leadership team and will be responsible in leading creative solutions to continuously improve our safety, quality, cost, reliability, productivity, profitability, and the teammates’ development. You will oversee 5 engineers and be responsible for the team’s ongoing project management and align their progress with our business goals and company’s mission.
- Meet with internal clients to detailed project goals and expectations and clarify specific requirements of each project
- Clearly communicate project tasks, scopes and duration to teammates involved
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with team as well as the managers and general manager
- Use and continually develop leadership skills
- Passion about safety that translates to active safety leadership
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10 years of engineering experience
- Prior experience with direct reports
- 5 years’ experience in project management and capital management projects
- Knowledge of engineering computer software programs
- Experience with process improvement and inventory control
- Advanced time management and analytical skills
- Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work with little supervision
- Strong ability to analyze opportunities, think strategically, coordinate and plan large projects to improve reliability and uptime while making good business decisions for Nucor
- PMP Certification is a plus
