Position Summary

The Purpose Church is seeking an experienced and talented Worship Director to lead and oversee all aspects of our worship & production teams.  This individual will be responsible for creating a spiritual, inspiring, engaging worship environment in any/all TPC corporate worship experiences.  The Worship Director will work closely with the church leadership team, including serving as the direct report for the creative teams, to further develop and implement a vision for this vital ministry as the church strategically aims to be a presence-led church.


Functions and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Vision: Further develop and communicate a clear and compelling vision that aligns with the overall mission and values of The Purpose Church.
  • Worship Engagement: Creates and fosters a spiritual, inspiring, engaging Sunday experience which includes excellent musicianship and creative elements.  Keeping the church up-to-date with current songs, trends and tools.
  • Budget Management: Manage the departmental budget ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Project Management: Possess an Integrator skillset. Execute all assigned projects, organizing, managing and coordinating the work required to complete projects within a defined scope, quality, time frame and cost constraints.
  • Team Care: Make yourself available to the team in a variety of ways, always seeking to care for people well.
  • Team Development: Identify and develop presence-driven worship leaders, teaching them the true nature of worship leading.


Leadership & Development 

  • Volunteer Recruitment and Training
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of dedicated volunteers who will assist in various roles within the department.  Participate in continuing education, events and training opportunities for self and the team.
  • Communication
  • Excellent communication with the Pastors & team members is vital.
  • Communicate in a timely manner using all available resources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date team roster (PCO & Slack)


Qualifications

  • A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ with a lifestyle reflective of such.
  • 3+ Years Previous experience in leading worship from the platform. 
  • Able to play guitar and/or keyboard proficiently while leading
  • Sufficient knowledge of Playback, Ableton, PCO 
  • 1-2 years of management or supervisory experience over large teams
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and lead a group of volunteers.


Spiritual Leadership & Expectations

  • Tithe at TPC (Leviticus 27:30) - At The Purpose Church we practice tithing for the support of Christ’s Body, the church as God commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is the biblical standard of giving. 
  • Small Groups (Acts 20:20) - Small Groups are at the heart of TPC. Real life change happens in the context of relationships. In the Bible they worshiped in the temple, but ministry happened house to house. TPC Small Groups are organized as follows:  a spring semester, a fall semester, and an abbreviated summer session. You are expected to lead a small group at least once annually and participate in small groups (as a leader or a member) every semester/session.
  • Attending Sunday Service - Your Spiritual Growth is the number one priority. What you do as part of the TPC Ministry Team should be fueled by your ongoing spiritual development.
