Your day to day will vary as we host a variety of events on property, partnering with each department to execute service to the highest level for our guests.


The Banquet Manager's job responsibilities include:

 

  • Manage operations of all contracted events including but not limited to meetings, galas, weddings, retreats, receptions within the ballroom, conference rooms, and Villa/rooftop
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to banquet captains and hourly front of house staff to execute BEO to highest standards
  • Maintain service standards that align with the Nobu brand
  • Hold pre-function meetings with front of house and back of house team to ensure smooth, efficient service.
  • Event planning and follow through - determining timelines, diagramming, F+B dry sets, etc
  • Assist staff with room set-ups, food service, and clean-up including but not limited to organizing and execution of all banquet functions
  • Responsible for ensuring staff are aware and ready to execute daily assignments and side work to be completed in their respective areas.
  • Greet meeting/event client on-site contact and continuously monitor service levels throughout the event.
  • Determine whether there are last-minute changes and discuss various setup arrangements.
  • Actively communicates changes, updates, differing guest counts, menu accommodations to the Event Manager
  • Always provide guests with exceptional service and in a warm and enthusiastic manner.
  • Ensure proper cleaning of all equipment after the function is completed. Also regularly inspects all house service areas and equipment to guarantee standards for the department are met.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel.
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
  • Manage inventory weekly and monthly for equipment, small-wares, beverages, and other items as needed
  • Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment
  • Inventory and ordering
  • Attend internal and external meetings per the calendar and as delegated by Event Manager/General Manager
  • Immediately report complaints to the Event Manager and resolve issues to the guest’s satisfaction when possible.
  • Other ad hoc duties assigned by Manager

 

Experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Knowledge of Banquet Service
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of position.
  • Ability to train and coach others.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage, Conference Services, or a related discipline is required.
  • Banquet Captain: 3 years (Preferred)

 

Physical Requirements

  • Minimum lifting and pulling of 40 pounds.
  • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
  • Standing and walking for a prolonged period of time

Job Type: Full-time (Hours and Work Days vary depending on events)
