Job Title: Quality Inspector III (CMM)

Location: Multiple Locations: Huntsville, AL, Kent WA, Merritt Island FL

Shift: Multiple Shifts

Type: Contract

Compensation Range: $42 - $49/HR - depends on shift and location

About the Role:

We are seeking several skilled Quality Inspectors level III to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on the precision inspection of aerospace components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Candidates should have a strong foundation in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and be proficient in CMM programming and operation, particularly with PC-DMIS or MODUS software.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup, program, and operate CMM to inspect both manufactured and procured components against design data.
  • Conduct first article inspections in compliance with AS9102 standards.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of aerospace components, ensuring adherence to high tolerance and quality standards.
  • Document discrepancies, track inspections, and finalize discrepancy reports.
  • Execute preventative maintenance on inspection machines and document maintenance activities.
  • Maintain strict configuration control over files and job records.
  • This position is eligible for overtime.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in dimensional inspection, specifically in the aerospace sector.
  • Advanced understanding and application of GD&T principles, with superior blueprint reading skills.
  • Proficient in the use of precision hand tools, gauges, optical comparators, and surface plate work.
  • Experience in inspecting components with tight tolerances and high value is essential.
  • Comfortable with the use of personal computers for documentation and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and projects effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
