Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Observe, assess and evaluate patients, perform suture removal and wound care.
  • Room patients, gather patient history and vitals.
  • Answer clinical telephone calls and medication refill requests, prioritizing and routing to physician accordingly.
  • Accurately convey information and instructions to patients and their families regarding tests, treatments, preoperative care, medications and other patient teaching.
  • Document appropriate information in EHR. Coordinate information with physicians and clinical staff as needed.
  • Perform routine telephone calls to check the status of all post-operative patients in a timely manner.
  • Assist with scheduling patient appointments.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare facilities, other physicians and their office staff.
  • Provide safe and appropriate administration of medication whether directly by instruction or by telephone to pharmacies, as instructed by physicians.
  • Organize and requisition supplies as needed to maintain treatment rooms for exam.

Requirements

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse with 2+ yrs. experience
  • Neuro and clinic experience a plus
