Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead RSP Teacher to join our special education team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all students in the RSP program receive a high-quality education that meets their unique needs. You will provide direct instruction to students, collaborate with general education teachers, and lead professional development initiatives for the Special Education department.


Responsibilities:

Instruction:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students with a variety of disabilities in the RSP setting.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with general education teachers and related service providers.
  • Utilize a variety of research-based instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of RSP students.
  • Monitor student progress and make data-driven decisions to adjust instruction as needed

Leadership:

  • Provide instructional coaching and mentoring to RSP teachers.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities on best practices for RSP instruction and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement the school's vision for the RSP program.
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in special education.

Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers to ensure effective inclusion practices for RSP students in the general education classroom.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and IEP development.
  • Build positive relationships with all members of the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching credential with authorization in Special Education.
  • Minimum of five years of successful RSP teaching experience in a special education setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Strong knowledge of research-based instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor other teachers.
