Job Description:


Position Summary:


Join our team as a Port Operations Specialist, a dynamic role that combines the responsibilities of an Asset Manager and Maintenance Planner. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational excellence and asset integrity of the Port Authority of NY & NJ. You will be pivotal in managing both New Jersey and New York Marine Terminals, ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of all assets and infrastructures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee asset data to ensure its accuracy, integrity, and consistency across various systems, including IBM Maximo versions 7.6, 8.4, and 8.5.
  • Plan, schedule, and forecast predictive, corrective, and preventive maintenance works, aligning with the asset management processes.
  • Coordinate and manage data delivery from maintenance, capital, and operating projects to support the Asset Management Program.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and controls, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance practices.
  • Implement and manage modifications to asset management procedures and reporting systems, enhancing operational workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance teams and project managers to prioritize tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and operational standards, ensuring minimal disruption to port operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in asset management, maintenance management, or infrastructure management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and familiarity with IBM Maximo or similar asset management software.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholder engagements.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel as needed across Port Authority facilities.


Work Conditions:

  • This position requires on-site presence at the Port Department and may involve travel to various Port Authority locations as needed.
  • Standard work hours with flexibility to accommodate operational needs and holidays as per state regulations.

Employment Type: Full-time, with a one-year contract and potential extension based on performance.
