Packaging Engineer Manager

Our client is an entrepreneurial, sustainable snack food manufacturer in the better for you space seeking a Packaging Engineer Manager who will report to the Director of Research & Development. The role involves leading the packaging engineering department, managing multiple fast-paced projects, applying advanced packaging knowledge to address complex issues, and driving innovation. Responsibilities include overseeing project activities, developing schedules, budgets, and resource plans, monitoring progress, and implementing best practices within the packaging engineering team.


Core Competencies:

  • Provides leadership and strategic vision for the packaging engineering function.
  • Leads and develops team members, providing coaching as needed, both technical and project management.
  • Conceptualizes and delivers complete packaging solutions that drive competitive advantage, top-line wins, operational efficiency, and margin improvements.
  • Works autonomously or as part of a cross-functional project team to perform complex, high-profile technical assignments under general direction

Client Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5-8 years of packaging engineering experience in food manufacturing; previous management experience.
  • Broad-based technical proficiency and experience partnering with internal stakeholders and vendors to seamlessly implement packaging solutions.
  • Knowledge of shelf-life definition as it applies to packaging, seal integrity (COF, sealing thresholds, and sealing range).
  • Competency in the following software preferred: AutoCAD and/or ArtiosCAD, TOPS and/or CAPE.


This role is based in Minneapolis and boasts a competitive base salary, bonus, and relocation for the right candidate.
