WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is critical to establishing a safety culture for two precast concrete operations in Tucson and Phoenix, AZ. This position will manage various priorities related to environmental health and safety practices and training programs for the Arizona plant operations.

Reporting to the Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety, you will work with each facility's plant leadership and operations teams and our corporate EH&S team based in Reno, NV.


A highlight of primary responsibilities include:


  • Provide ongoing direction on improvement strategies and feedback on safety performance to the plants’ management team and supervisors.
  • Analyze data from incident history, behavioral observations, hazard reports, and plant audits to identify performance trends and determine and create plant performance improvement strategies.
  • Collect and analyze data from our safety programs, including reviewing incident reports, hazard reports, near-hit reports, and non-routine tasks.
  • Conduct EHS audits and risk assessment audits.
  • Strong environmental knowledge and experience, including SWPPP.  
  • Manage and facilitate plant safety education programs by onboarding new employees, ensuring all necessary regulatory and Company safety management programs are reviewed.
  • Develop and administer safety training presentations covering OSHA compliance, the Company’s management programs, and cultural/behavioral change processes.
  • Manage the environmental program to ensure compliance with State and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory requirements.

You’re enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated history of excellence in EH&S leadership in an industrial environment, manufacturing preferred. Other desired qualifications include:


  • A bachelor’s degree in business, occupational health and safety, or a related field. A CSP designation is preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and coaching the EH&S function in a manufacturing organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and implementing EHS programs and systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA General Industry and Construction Regulations & Standards
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at presenting training materials to all levels.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and management skills.
  • Strong ethics and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and analyze basic data and develop metrics.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and as a member of highly functional operations teams.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
