Successful candidates primary responsibility will be monitoring, implementing, configuring, and managing companies suite of security applications and keeping endpoints current with system and security updates. Will work in tandem with IT Operations engineers and management as required. Research and train on companies existing information security tools and become a subject matter expert. Assist in managing all security tools (e.g., firewalls, data encryption, desktop security, server advanced security, anti-malware, ransomware, MDM management and DNS filtering); provide daily monitoring and reports. Monitor the organization's network for security breaches, report, and investigate violations when they occur. Perform timely and thorough regular release and emergency security patch management enterprise wide. Maintain and adhere to companies cyber security plan, including supporting regular disaster recovery and network penetration testing. Help to continuously improve security standards and best practices for the organization. Review and report any potential risks/vulnerabilities whether internally or externally based. Research the latest security trends and recommend enhancements to Security Engineer and IT Management. Assist computer technicians and end users when they must learn about or install new security products and/or procedures. Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc IT security audits at the direction of the IT Operations Manager or other IT management. Participate in security incident management. Create security incident communications on behalf of the IT Operations Manager for distribution to IT Management and internal business customers. Prepare and document postmortem reviews of issues or incidents.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of IT systems security experience
- Current Certification(s) in Information Security (Comp TIA Security+, CISA, GIAC Security Essentials, Certified Ethical Hacker) preferred.
- Significant experience with various Windows Server builds and in a virtualized and high availability clustered environment.
- Significant experience with Microsoft AD and Messaging systems.
- Management by CLI and Scripting.
- Capability to perform essential end point troubleshooting (systems such as computers and mobility devices).
- Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, data encryption, desktop, and server security techniques.
- Familiarity with compliance protocols associated with the health insurance portability and accountability act (HIPAA), PCI compliance and security standards and acceptance and secure management of Protected Health Information (PHI) required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with staff at every level in the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training preferred.
